Objectives for 2015

As in previous years, one of the items we talked about in this year’s winter development day at Weston-on-the-Green was the benefit of setting yourself achievable and measurable objectives for the season.

If you want to share your objectives for 2015 then why not add them in a comment on this page?
That way you can take inspiration from other people’s objectives and also refer back to your objectives throughout the year.

You don’t have to log in to add a comment, and your mail address won’t appear either. You can use your real name or a nickname. And if you want other people’s inputs then you can ask them to reply to your comments.

We’ll just keep an eye on the comments to make sure they don’t get hijacked by some spammers who want to sell us bizarre things.

My main focus this year is house building. So I’m cutting back to one macro and two key micro things in my gliding – the micro ones are finally trying to crack the just-one-extra-turn-itis at the top of thermals and examining the best balance of pulling up versus keeping the speed on in the run. The macro one is learning how to race the Duo as I’m entered into the 20m Nats – my XC speeds to date have been ok but not exceptional so I’m going to do some analysis in any quiet moment as to how the fast guys fly Duos and then put it into practice.

My main gliding objectives for 2015, now that I can fly again after 7 months of ear problems, are to build hours in the back of K21s on BI flights, not to be as conservative, and generally to fly more.

Following Liz’s example.. the micro goals – again resisting the temptation to take those last 2 or 3 turns at the top of a thermal, and resisting turning when just flying down a line of energy makes more sense.

I’m not entering any comps this year, perhaps next year.
FI training is probably also on the cards for 2016.

Hi – I couldn’t find an email address or contact form on the site, so a comment seems the only way to get in touch. I paid my £15 on 12th June 2015 and have confirmation from Paypal but no other correspondence/acknowledgment yet – have my details gone astray?

      Hi Katharine,

thanks for pointing out that we never added our mail address to this website – I trust that everything is now sorted out with your membership (sorry about the slight hiccup), and I’m currently trying to add the mail address info@womenglide somewhere obvious… 🙂
